NORML MISSION STATEMENT
NORML's mission is to move public opinion sufficiently to
achieve the repeal of marijuana prohibition so that the responsible use
of cannabis by adults is no longer subject to penalty.

NORML POLICY STATEMENT
NORML
supports the right of adults to use marijuana
responsibly, whether for medical or personal purposes.
All penalties, both civil and criminal, should be eliminated
for responsible use. Further, to
eliminate the crime,
corruption and violence associated with any "black
market," a legally regulated market should be
established,
where consumers could buy marijuana in a
safe and secure environment.
NORML
also supports the legalization of hemp
(non-psychoactive marijuana) for industrial use.

Did you know that the Bureau of Justice Statistics estimates
that
over 19% of college students smoke pot on at least a monthly basis?
Did you know that means at our school of over 35,000
students,
at least 6,500 of us probably toke up once in a while?
Did you know we can change laws with enough effort?
There is a great deal to learn about the harms of our Marijuana laws,
and how they not only invade people's privacy, but have serious ramifications
on our society's justice system, our health, our social class structure,
and our EDUCATION.
